We recognize that your time is valuable and want to make your volunteer experience meaningful and enjoyable. We now have the capability for you to register and to sign up online for our volunteer opportunities. To do this, please click on the Online Volunteer Registration above. You will still able to reserve group opportunities by contacting Heather Hockey at 314-4576 or hhockey@foodbankonline.org.

We are no longer able to accept court-ordered community service.
For their safety, absolutely NO children under 12 years of age are permitted in food handling areas. Children between the ages of 12-16 years of age are permitted to volunteer only if they are accompanied by an adult guardian.
For your safety, covered shoes must be worn in the sorting room and warehouse areas. Flip-flops, sandals and open toe shoes cannot be worn and no one will be permitted into these areas without proper shoes.
Volunteer Opportunities at the Foodbank:
Below are the volunteer leadership opportunities we are currently recruiting for. If you are interested a leadership opportunity, please contact Heather Hockey at 314-4576 or by emailing her at hhockey@foodbankonline.org. All hours are subject to change.
Sorting Room Team Leaders:
Individuals needed to volunteer their time 3½ hours (from 8:30am-12:00 noon) one Saturday every other month working as part of a four person lead team. This team would guide & supervise weekend and Monday evening volunteer groups in food sorting tasks. Training will be provided. Individuals must be willing to commit to 6 training sessions and be willing to work a minimum of 3 ½ hours – one Saturday every other month.

New to Volunteering! Family Evening at the Foodbank:
The Foodbank is happy to announce that on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm we will have our first Family Evening. This volunteering opportunity will be open to families with children who are between the ages of 6 and 12 years old. We welcome you to come in and help us to sort and pack food. All children must be accompanied by a parent or an adult guardian (age 21 or older). Sign up for this event must be done online by clicking the Online Volunteer Registration link above and you must complete a volunteer registration for each child you wish to bring.
There will be limited space so we encourage you to sign up early. Please remember that ALL volunteers must wear covered shoes. No flip flops, sandals, or open toed shoes will be permitted in the sorting area. We hope to see you on August 2nd!
