The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia (FSEVA) was founded in 1981 as a clearinghouse for food for the poor. Since its inception, the Foodbank has distributed over 221 million pounds of food directly and through partner agencies within the community. The location of the Foodbank has changed over the years but the mission has not, which is to educate the public on hunger issues and to end hunger within the community.
