Foodbank Volunteer Information

Click here for Online Volunteer Registration

We are very excited about a new software program that we now have in place making it simple and convenient for you to sign up to volunteer. To sign-up, please click on the Online Volunteer Registration above. You will still be able to reserve group opportunities by contacting Heather Hockey at 314-4576 or hhockey@foodbankonline.org. You’ll be amazed at how easy it is and we’ll even send you a reminder before your scheduled volunteer time.

If you would like to bring a group of 25 or more, contact Cheryl McNeill at 314-4559 or cmcneill@foodbankonline.org and we can reserve the number of slots you need. If you have a few minutes right now, check out Volunteer Hub and if you would like, sign up to volunteer "at your convenience!"

We are no longer able to accept court-ordered community service.

For their safety, absolutely NO children under 12 years of age are permitted in food handling areas. Children between the ages of 12-16 years of age are permitted to volunteer only if they are accompanied by an adult guardian. The only exception to this is our Family & Youth Night. Please check Volunteer Hub for scheduling and information on this event.

For your safety, covered shoes must be worn in the sorting room and warehouse areas. Flip-flops, sandals and open toe shoes cannot be worn and no one will be permitted into these areas without proper shoes.

Volunteer Opportunities at the Foodbank:

Below are the volunteer leadership opportunities we are currently recruiting for. If you are interested a leadership opportunity, please contact Heather Hockey at 314-4576 or by emailing her at hhockey@foodbankonline.org. All hours are subject to change.

Family & Youth Volunteer Night:
We are excited to offer another opportunity for our younger citizens to volunteer with us. On Monday, September 13, 2010 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm, children between the ages of 6 and 12 years old who are accompanied by an adult will be able to come to the Foodbank and help us to sort and pack food. This is a great opportunity to teach children the importance of giving back to their communities. We ask that you allow each child to bring a can of food to donate to the Foodbank during our “Follow the Can tour.”

Sign up for this event must be done online by clicking the Online Volunteer Registration link above. You must complete a volunteer registration for each child you wish to bring (you may use your email address for your children).

There will be limited space so we encourage you to sign up early. Please remember that ALL volunteers must wear covered shoes. No flip flops, sandals, or open toe shoes will be permitted in the sorting area. We hope to see you and your young children on September 13th.
